Father Thomas Blackwell
A Seeded Priest

WHO IS FATHER BLACKWELL?
Father Thomas Blackwell has always had it in his heart to do good, to be good. He joined the church when he was young and impressionable, when he thought that serving God was the highest honor. Throughout this time with the church and while becoming one of its serving Exorcists, he learned there was indeed a darker side to it; one that put him at odds with his blind faith - not in God, but in those that served God - and the things they were capable of doing.

While he was still young and before becoming a fully fledged Exorcist, he was a student in training - going through seminary schooling. He was shadowing another priest, learning the skills of Exorcism as he'd been dogeared to be a good, strong figure within the church himself - one being guided toward the Exorcist program to keep Satan from ever gaining a handhold on Earth. (Ironic, all things considered. But his faith was truly tested one evening when he was a silent witness to an exorcism of a young child; successful in withdrawing the seed of Lucifer, it was something that at that moment solidified his faith in what he was doing. And then, just like that, it was what tested it.

They were going to kill the child. After exorcising it, freeing it of Lucifer's grip, they had a protocol - all hosts, once exorcised, were to be eliminated as they were considered weak to reseeding. Blackwell couldn't believe it. Couldn't look at an innocent babe and let that child simply die now, not when it was thriving, alive and - free.

It was his choice to smuggle it out. To find it another family. To cover his tracks with falsified records, a fake cremation and a lot of lying that he repented for in furious prayer as he could not trust his confessions to anyone he knew. But he believed God would forgive him for sparing another of his own children - was that not what God wanted? And since when did the church itself get to decide otherwise?

Blackwell continued to serve in the church despite his questioning of its ways. He became an exorcist to attempt to continue to serve humanity with more compassion than his peers. But as fate would have it many years later, he was once again put at a crossroads when he himself was forcibly seeded by the Seventh One and forced now to tiptoe the line between Good and Evil within his own body.

He's hidden the seeding but it won't stay hidden for long. It infects him too much in the day by day, corrupting him and his thoughts. He struggles to balance a holy life with one wanting sin; he never wins out either which way, but he struggles back and forth. He indulges, he sins, and then he prays and punishes himself for the moments of weakness. For enjoying it. And then he puts on a straight face and goes back to giving mass.

ABILITIES
As part of the the verse, all seeded individuals are immortal unless killed by another of their seeded peers. This means that they will heal from injuries rapidly and efficiently, with some exceptions. Wounds from other seeded individuals will still heal but be more stubborn and slow in the process.

Seed hosts have enhanced senses and abilities, which increase with each seed they absorb. Each host manifests their additional abilities uniquely. If the seed is exorcised from a host, the host no longer has access to these abilities and loses their immortality.

Seeds that have been through several hosts may, at times, remember parts of those lives in a sense of deja vu. seeded folk also have an unstable connection to one another, like a hivemind, which was only recently discovered when the final seed came into play.

Blackwell has the ability of an Exorcist to expel negative influences from a person, to purify or cure them of possession through routines, prayer and holy presence. As a seeded individual, he has rapid healing and a hivemind with his peers as well as a perversion of his holy powers that equates to:

He has the ability to 'create' and 'destroy' - this sense of balance, where he can push forward positive energy to heal, to clarify and sedate and then to pull away and siphon, to cloud and and to destroy. He uses these abilities in moderation, if ever, because leaning one way more than the other can disrupt the balance he tries to maintain between his two 'sides'.
